Hello,

From: "Paul Healey" <Paul.Healey-at-logica.demon.co.uk
Please write more about your "concept of probability" and the "dialectical concept of chance".

It seems to me that probability and chance are "unessential" in Hegel´s dialectics. This dialectics (and changes of qualities) occurs within ONE ESSENCE. Therefore the essence determines a LINEAR WAY of evolution. To explain evolution/development we have to take into account the interaction of several systems with several essences - and the CHANGING OF ESSENCES in this evolution/development-process. This means more than Hegel´s changing of qualities.

Therefore I suggest to develop dialectics with our knowledge of self-organisation-principles. One conclusion will be: Evolution/deveopment is lawful AND is NOT lawful. Not Lawful, because the laws of an "old" system doesn't determine the further evolution (new laws emerge) - lawfully, because the "old" laws are sublated in the new.

This will have much consequences for our orientation of action (contents and organisation).

And: Our knowledge is scientific AND is NOT scientific: Scientific, because we try to recognize the laws (essence) of all things - and not scientific, because we CAN NOT know, which new laws emerge after a "bifurcation point".

We CAN and we HAVE TO change conditions of evolution - in order to promote wishful possibilities..., but we have no guarantee of linear progress...
