J.T. Murphy

I refer to John McIlroy’s review of Ralph Darlington’s The Political Trajectory of J.T. Murphy (Revolutionary History, Volume 7, no. 2, pp. 255–63). I interviewed JT Murphy more than once in the latter years of his life. We discussed at length and in detail the text and implications of the first draft of what later became the first half of my Revolutionary Movement in Britain. It is indisputably clear that at this time, he was not in any sense a Stalinist, and equally that he had not been a Stalinist for a long time.

I wonder if it would also be possible to use your pages to inform your readers of the death on 10 June 1999 in Milan of my dear friend and comrade Giulio Seniga. Born in 1923, he was a man of singular honesty and integrity, a libertarian Socialist, skilled metal-worker, wartime partisan, journalist, author, left-wing publisher, and a witness for truth against Stalinist lies and distortions. A memorial meeting was held in Milan on 10 July.
