The following is an investigation of the Communist League and its theoretical and polemical writings. Our conclusions are here for all to see.
We wish to point out that it is no accident that the Peoples Tribune has degenerated into one of the leading counter-revolutionary forces in the U.S.A. The Peoples Tribune has “exploited” the “split in the Left” in the name of the “struggle against revisionism”. This “split” which the Peoples Tribune consciously wants to develop into open antagonism, is one of the aims of the bourgeois counter-revolution. As with all organizations on the left, none has been spared this infiltration and penetration by agents, spies and provocateurs.
Having been lulled to sleep by the pervading bourgeois culture, the advanced elements of the working class have failed to put the working class and proletarian class consciousness in the leadership of everything. Still theoretically and ideologically weak and undeveloped, these cadres in all the organizations on the left have been unable to spot and criticize the illogical, contradictory and outright false positions and theories being put forward by their so-called leaders, and particularly, the Peoples Tribune.
Not one organization in the U.S.A. has put forward a clear and accurate account of the tasks that are at hand and of how to achieve their aims. It is not enough to say “we are for Party Building” without mapping out the methods to accomplish this task. Mao Tsetung has pointed out that: “We should not only propose tasks, but also solve the problem. Our task maybe the crossing of a river, but we cannot cross it without a bridge or a boat. Without solving the problem of bridge or boat, any talk about crossing the river would be idle. Without solving the problem of methods, it is sheer blether to talk about tasks.” (Mind the Living Conditions of the Masses and Attend to the Methods of Work)
The distortions of Marxism-Leninism-Mao Tsetung Thought and the outright anti-Marxist attitude of the Communist League makes these charlatans fall over backwards when it comes to this question of methods. We must relentlessly attack these capitalist intruders in order to safeguard the growing proletarian movement; we must expose their vicious lies and counter-revolutionary ’blather’.

Struggle against bourgeois elements in our midst. Let us be done with idiotic back biting; let us be done with the endless streams of newspapers and literature emanating from those who have been insincere and self-centered enough to print their speculative ramblings; let us be done with the daily repetition of errors in our mass organizing and in our inter-organisational relations.
