Until agreement is reached on the expanded basis of unity proposed in the introduction, or until the proposal is clearly defeated, no new members should be admitted to the collective. We have reached the point of debate on two roads for the future of the WESTERN VOICE, and given the crucial nature of the debate, it is not the time to invite new people to join us.
Once the basic direction of the collective has been decided, new members should be admitted. At that point, assuming a Marxist-Leninist basis of unity, struggle in the collective will focus on the various questions of political line. Marxist-Leninists and advanced workers open to Marxism-Leninism should be encouraged to participate in these debates.
New members to the collective should be admitted on the basis of clear anti-imperialist, anti-revisionist politics. They should, at the very least, be receptive to Marxism-Leninism as a guide to their political work, and should clearly understand that they will be expected to study and apply ML theory as members of the collective.
Once the period of transition has ended, and our political line has become clear, methods of recruitment should be reconsidered.
