After having wholeheartedly joined the struggle for the unity and after the national and regional conference on the Path of the Revolution in Canada last spring, the May First Collective, the Long March Collective and the October Study group, three Marxist-Leninist groups from Vancouver now have been dissolved and rallied to IN STRUGGLE!
One remembers the particular contributions of these three groups within the movement, amongst them the realisation of the necessity of itensifying the ideological struggle. this arm of class struggle[1] and also on the historical importance of analysing the historical roots and demarcating from the bourgeois nationalist deviations still present within the ranks of Canadian Marxist-Leninist movement for instance as it is the case of another Vancouver groups, the Red Star Collective [2].
The rallying of these groups is thus a great victory: it means a rupture with the circle mentality, “of the small group jealous of its autonomy”, something very developed in BC. It shows as well the development of the Marxist-Leninist movement across Canada and in a region where class struggle and the combativity of the working class is strong. One need only to think back to the strike in Kitimat last year where bourgeois repression was confronted in unity with the Quebecois and immigrant workers.
We therefore welcome with great enthusiasm this rallying as a step forward on the path of the revolution in our country.
Long live the unity of Canadian Marxist-Leninsts
