The monopoly capitalist class has been ruling Canada since, and before, 1867. Right from its birth, it has been a traitor class. It was tailor-maid by the English colonialists to fulfill their colonial aims, and has been fulfilling these aims quite well with full loyalty to the English crown. A section of this class took up the job of serving the U.S. imperialists. Still smaller sections became errand-boys of other foreign imperialists. This is the role the monopoly capitalists play in the life of Canada.
The historical destiny of the monopoly capitalists is to be traitors. They have no other role. Their class is exhausted. It has reached its highest and final stage and today, at its death-bed, it is incapable of changing its inherent nature or the role it has been playing in the life of Canada. The sole destiny of this class is to be overthrown, and it is very conscious of this. It enacts legislation in a hysterical manner to avert this destiny but this will not assist it in any way.
The monopoly capitalist class is the smallest class and has been playing a very dominant role in the society. Alongside with their closest supporters, the upper-petty bourgeoisie, the monopoly capitalists make up no more than 5% of the total population (about 1,100,000 in number), is most parasitic, moribund and decaent class in Canada today, and it has everything to lose by a social revolution.
The only class which has the ability, the resources, the strength and the know-how to deal with the problems the Canadian people is the working class. The working class in Canada came into being through the vast English colonial and U.S. imperialist expansion. It produced all the wealth of the country and it has suffered the most at the hands of the monopoly capitalist class. The working class is the only reliable and patriotic class for its members are not only oppressed by the Canadian monopoly capitalists, but also by the foreign imperialists. The foreign imperialists and their local lackies will never trust the working class due to its anti-imperialist nature. The working class is the most numerous class. It is composed of over 80% of the populace and is on the threshold of social revolution. It is only a matter of one, two or three decades before this class will overthrow the rule of the monopoly capitalist class, end the foreign domination of Canada and establish the dictatorship of the proletariat in Canada.
In between the working class and the monopoly capitalist class is the petty-bourgeoisie from the rural and urban area. Amongst the petty-bourgeoisie the majority is patriotic, but its patriotism is vacillating and unreliable. These petty bourgeois, though oppressed by the foreign imperialists and the monopoly capitalists, also look towards them as a means of making a living for themselves. Petty production keeps coming into being and passing away. The monopoly capitalists use the petty producer as the instrument of opening up and developing a market in Canada for the purposes of then taking it over. The monopoly capitalists first provide the money (on interest) and incentives and call upon the petty producers to begin enterprises, in order to then take over these enterprises. A section of these petty producers are low-salaried professionals (this section excludes the high-salaried professionals like doctors and lawyers, etc.). The petty producers feel pleased with the capitalist system when the monopoly capitalists open up their areas of production and increase spending, but become unhappy when the monopoly capitalists discard them as a result of having no further use for them. Out of the petty bourgeoisie, the upper petty bourgeoisie is totally sold-out, the middle petty bourgeoisie is vacillating, and the lower petty bourgeoisie empathises with the working class and may form an alliance with the working class. Politically, this class is the breeding ground of all sorts of anti-working class ideas and is the most noisome class. This class cannot be trusted to organise an anti-imperialist an socialist revolution.
Out of the three classes, the working class is the only class in ascendancy. It is increasing in numbers as well as in its ability to deal with the problems of the nation. It is the historical destiny of this class to organise the anti-imperialist, socialist revolution. The Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist) is the political Party of this class.
